Good enough got it for pc after switch
Rise for me was abnormally my intro into Monster Hunter, wow lots of wasted time not having fun with a series that was obviously well enj, oyed by gamers. I loved rise, and it ended up transfering to Riders Stories 2, World and all Expansions.
Im not going to pick a fav cause it kind of depends on the mood. Turn base Stories 2, Full giant world of adhd cyber squirrels to get lost in, and if I want some diverse great exploration (with sunbreak still exporing the new areas) and want to hunt Rise and Sunbreak.
The biggest point- Rise brought me to everything when I hadn't been pulled in to that world yet. It was a purchase to play on my daughters switch for a long plane trip and became a cross platform player for experiences. The biggest benefit without having dove in yet on pc version that I am excited for is the multiplayer gameplay now without the switch communication missing element.
That being said if I couldnt have got the games on pc without cdkeys.com and not joking. Games that you need to buy for every platform when your a lifelong gamer is something that is high selectivity due to cost. CDKeys saves me enough to get multiple games I wanted for PC & not have to debate between what I want more, or which I want to have for my PC to play with kb+m more (or all the other reasons like ffvii intergrade did where ps4 blocked it so buy a PS5 just to play the expansion?)
The industry has lots of situations in common, good to have deals that make it more reasonable.
The Pros
Switch version not being able to communicate without another device.
The Cons
No Cross-Save, capcom posted on twitter that it was not gonna happen, hope that changes.

Best monster hunter to start with
This game is Monster Hunter World but on turbo cocaine, you can zoom around the map no problem cause of the slingshot mechanics, the palicos are goddamn wonderful AND you get a mount right at the start.
If youre having trouble with weapon mechanics or something i recommend watching a guide, theres no shame in it, the game is goddamn hard for the first couple hours. Also dont do HUB quests solo, you will die. Also get stuff from the mailman, the event messages are actually DLC items that will help you out earlygame.
Key delivery was fast and easy, banger price too, mega recommend.
The Pros
NEW MOVEMENT MECHANICS
14 weapons each with switchable skills
huge assortment of companions
The Cons
Overwhelming ammount of systems, tutorials, system messages
Non intuitive mailman system

An alternative Monster hunter
This game definitely goes back in forth in terms of gameplay. Firstly monster hunting takes half as long as MHW so it might not be for the people who really like the drawn out battle. The game is definitely more vertically focused than MHW it might be experienced as a negative. That being said i do think it is a nice change the fighting mechanics have changed here and there for it to be faster paced. Considering you have a mount and more ways to approach a monster is definitely fun.
The Pros
-faster paced
-Japan focused
-evolved mechanics for
-more ways to engage
-co-op is accessible
The Cons
-first 2 maps are focused on verticality

The Pros

Fun, fairly similar to World
The game is really fun solo, even more so than World which, to me, wasn't as fun solo. The game still has a big part in regards with online play and playing with friends, and likely is more fun that way. The music is good, the intros to new areas are fun, the overall style is in my mind better than what World offered, and overall it's a solid Switch port. One negative I can think of is the fact that there aren't nearly as many mods for the game yet, and there also isn't a nice relaxing bath like there was in World, nor can you upgrade your room like in World.
The Pros
Good music, fun intros to new areas.
Fairly good monster designs.
Reminiscent of the Edo period.
The Cons
No room upgrading.
Not really an improvement on World, more so for fans of the series.

An extremely inferior successor to World
Rise is not by any merit a bad game, but it's worse than World and much worse than MHW+IB by amount of effort put in the game and by the amount of content it has.
And the worst out of all is the full price Capcom is asking for it, making the game even a bigger ripoff.
Good
Some monsters are really fun to fight compared to World (Narga,Zinogre,Rathalos,Jyuratodus, Teo).
Bigger variety of monster types in general, but only in low tier.
New weapon moves with wirebug can be fun.
Bad
another delayed port from Capcom with some serious bugs on release day.
Amount of lategame content is just pathetic and there is almost no actual reason to grind.
99% of events have monsters copypasted from main game and give layered or stickers/poses without any new usuable gear to farm.
No beta/alpha armor variants which makes theorycrafting extremely limited and boring, only ONE set of armor visually for both LR and HR which makes fashioncrafting also very limited.
Port isn't looking graphically tuned and doesn't differ from switch version, just higher resolution and uncapped framerate.
Visually game looks dated with washed up color palette and loses in graphic quality to the 4 years old game - MHW.
All music themes ruined by vocal tracks and choir bits, the production quality is also really low(new composer who never worked on MH game).
Tiny maps, not new but redesigned from previous MH games. The absence of endemic life, small size an makes it look a reskinned arena where you fight monsters rather than immersive part of the world.
Kamura hub feels cheesy - there is no day/night cycle, it's really small even for a village with very few NPCs and feels like everything in it was created just to serve you. The food theme Capcom picked for the game is also one of the lamest ones - dango - colored dumpling on a stick.
The new gimmick - wyvern riding breaks the flow of the game and forced on you really hard compared to previous games where in most cases you could just not mount or not use the CC.
Wirefall escape skill that gives you an ability to reposition really fast after being knocked back - removes a lot of challenge from the game. Just ignoring it is impossible since some monsters have attacks that require using wirefall to not get comboed on the ground or in the air.
Extremely streamlined gameplay where you can run around on the dog and sharpen during the fight, can get into the fight with the monster in seconds after spawning, mine nodes with one hit, don't need hot/cold drinks, can zip easily from one part of the map to another and don't need to actually "hunt" monster and keep research levels maxed out - you only need to see the monster once and then its movement and position will always be visible on the map - could have easily renamed the game to Monster Fighter.
A lot of pandering to the japanese audience which can be a good thing but here it just panders way too much.
New gimmick defense mode is boring and can't be ignored.
Downgraded multiplayer with only 4 player lobby.
Monster icons lost their visual clarity just to look like japanese painting.
really basic fonts existing along with heavily stylized ones which looks jarring.
Giant unscalable UI with shadows that obstruct the view with half of UI elements being Lowres with visible jaggies and some are high res, looks weird and bad.
I suggest this game to people who REALLY starving for a Monster Hunter game and played MHW for thousands of hours like me. Brace yourselves for the worse experience than World in pretty much every regard.
For other people - wait for at least 40% sale, it will happen sooner than you think.
The Pros
monster variety
new weapon moves
The Cons
no endgame content
No b/a armor
an upscaled 3DS game
Downgraded multiplayer
streamlined gameplay
