As the echoes of this conflict thunder in the distance, an outcast arrives. Once, their ancestors called the Lands Between home, but the blessed light of grace was lost to their tribe long ago and they were expelled from the kingdom. They are the Tarnished, and they have returned to claim the Elden Lordship promised to them by legend.
This is the world of ELDEN RING. As a Tarnished, the Lands Between await your exploration. You will ride through the vast fields, gallop over rolling hills, and leap to the top of rocky crags on your ephemeral steed, revealing a world teeming with life and danger.
In the grand fields where your journey begins, mythic creatures prowl the veldts, ineffable horrors lurk in the bogs and marshes, and all manner of soldiers and itinerant warriors are waiting for those who wander unawares. Shy creatures nibble on sweet grasses or scuttle through the underbrush.
Those few inhabitants who are not mad or hostile linger near the broken remnants of cities left behind by the Shattering. They may have answers for you, if you help them. Above them all, ensconced in vast legacies bristling with traps, secrets, and guardians, the Demigods – warped Lords who began as members of a royal and noble family – rule their domains with the unyielding power granted by shards of the Elden Ring.
The guidance of lost graces – should you find them - will put you on a road to re-take these lands from the Demigods through might and magic, but you need not follow their path. The choice is yours. Do you crave power, or do you seek understanding? Decide for yourself, then build your character as you see fit.
Try dozens of skills and find one to best suit your style. Practice stealth to avoid danger or catch enemies unaware. Use the environment, the weather, and the time of day to gain an advantage. Learn the art of combat , where you must read your enemy’s intentions and a well-timed dodge or parry could be the difference between life and death. Ride your steed into battle against mounted mercenaries and cut them from their horses.
Master arcane spells from the masters that still linger among the ruins of the war. Summon familiar spirits to even the odds against you or call on your fellow Tarnished to fight at your side and share the burden as you explore. Or, delve into the complex, bloody history of the Shattering and discover the lost secrets of the Demigods and their kin. All these paths are possible, and more.
Ultimately, your journey will be defined by the strength of your own ambition. The greater your goals, the greater the challenge will be. Should you choose to claim the Lands Between as your birthright then yes, you must fight. And yes, you may die. But you will return to fight again. For that is how a champion – or a Lord – is born.

Beautiful game
This game is genuinely gorgeous, look wise and story wise, I had been watching many youtube videos on Elden Ring before buying it and the whole game is just beautiful! It's quite difficult if you havent played a souls-like before but its fairly simple to begin picking it up.

Masterfully Crafted
Incredible open-world, feels lived in yet desolate from a time long ago; the combat is engaging and never gets old, and the art direction is fucking mad, got the old scroll medieval type shi that remains consistent, and new environments stick to this theme and go past any expectations i had graphically and artistically.

Addictively Frustrating, I LOVE IT

I am big in to rpg's. I had never played dark souls when i bought elden ring. This is my favourite game of all time. Played through 3 times now. Its just on another level, the feeling of exploration and adventure, the difficult fights. It's just better than anything ive ever played, and took the top spot from my previous fav - FFVII

Great & hard game
Okay so I have never really played any souls games, so this was my first entry to the series. I have played for 10 hours and it has been a blast, hard enemies, but also great time learning how to dodge and how certain enemies attack you. Theres so many things that you can collect and so many people you need to find so you can get certain items or spells.

In a craze of remastered games. To have a game built from Dark Souls series as a open world game is beyond comparison.
I have been playing games for 26 years now and I would have to say this is top 5 games I have ever played in my life. Would recommend getting this game if you are in to RPGs

First Souls Game
This is my first time playing a souls game and I've loved every minute of it. The fact the story is left with holes in it lets the player fill them in themselves and the gameplay is amazing, the lack of waypoint makers that tell you exactly where you need to go is a nice break and lets you progress the story at your own pace and leaves you to figure out where to go next on your own.

You are maidenless, just kidding. Incredible game and everyone should try this game atleast once even if you are not a fan of the "souls-like" genre. The open world allows for range of exploration for countless of hours, the soundtrack and ambient noise is spectactular and the graphics are incredible. Overall I've nothing wrong with this game other than few rendering and shader compliation issues which are not major for PC.

I love this game only game I have 100%
this is this such an amazing game and I recommend you give it a go even if your new to the souls series, its tough to learn but that's the beauty, the euphoria you get when beating that area or boss you have been stuck on for ages is unmatchable in today age of gaming.

This also go beautifully into the story and world building its a dark and dreary world and your up against insurmountable odds yet will succeed if you don't give up. i wont spoil the story or lore but it is something to really appreciate the love From soft put into this game

Let's be honest here, today's game market is oversatured with unfinished products, micro transaction filled games and low quality series pumped out just to appease fans who have no expectations apart from "YOO A NEW ONE RELEASED OF THE SAME THING BUT DIFFERENT LAYOUT."
Ok, maybe that was a bit harsh but honestly, this game is incredible. It's finished, plans for a DLC are coming, and the open world is simply amazing. Fromsoftware have mastered the formula, from dark souls 1 to elden ring, the experience can completely alter your opinion of the game from previous experiences of the souls-borne formula.

Everything you LOVE about souls games in ONE game!
If you are a long time FromSoftware fan then you are going to LOVE Elden Ring. Everything FromSoft has learned over the years has been implemented in this game and it really elevates the experience for old and new fans! If you have never been into the Souls games because they were too difficult, this game is STILL very difficult but there are lots of resources for you to get help and defeat this game!

The stuttering issue has mostly been fixed. But even with a RTX 3080 you get frame dips. I sit at mostly 60fps but sometimes it drops to 55ish. Just turn the frame counter off and you won't even notice.

Fantastic Game
Elden Ring is an amazing, massive open - world game that is extremely challenging, especially for people that have not played a SoulsBorne game before. Over time, you will definitely get used to it, especially early game as you don't HAVE to go anywhere or do anything if you don't want to, you can just explore, find NPCs, new places and plenty other things. Not too much of a main story, quite a lot of lore though. The bosses, what FromSoft games are known for, their notoriously hard bosses, and the satisfaction you get when you kill a boss you spent an hour on. It's all here in Elden Ring, the hard bosses and the satisfaction you get when you finally kill them. Overall, I enjoyed Elden Ring a lot, the combat, the grinding for upgrading your levels, it's all worth it. Elden Ring is definitely worth the price, you're getting hundreds of hours of game here. Also, very replayable even when you're done the game, you still want to find all the secrets you missed that are still there in The Lands Between.

Elden Ring
Elden Ring. A game that has exceeded my already high expectations. FromSoft have managed to somehow create a huge (and I do mean huge) open world version of Dark Souls with lots of Bloodborne and Sekiro in the mix too that surpasses them all in pretty much every way. A game full of wonder, secrets and excitement all the way through. The art style and soundtrack are glorious and of course there's the challenge. It's tough at times but rarely does a game feel so satisfying overcoming those challenges. Great fun.

Best of FromSoft To Date
I've never been a real fan of the Dark/Demon Soul games on the preface that I could never really "git gud". I felt trapped whenever I couldn't beat a boss and dying over and over with a tedious track back to the boss only to die before even returning was a huge turn off. Elden Ring has turned my opinion around a clear 180; the game does everything so much better for players like me than FromSoftware's previous games. If you feel like you're slamming your head against a wall against any certain boss, just leave, explore and level up and then try again. You are never stuck in this game, not truly, and its the open-world we find ourselves in that truly solves this problem. It's still difficult, don't think it isn't, but its a more accessible soulslike than any other, and I am so happy I gave it a go.

Great game and code works!
I was so apprehensive about buying Elden Ring but I've sank 70 something hours into it already, and I feel like I barely scratched the surface of this game. Challenging but what souls-game isn't? I hope you have patience but it is really rewarding! The code worked and I was able to redeem and download this game easily and quickly :D

Doesn't get better than this.
In a time where production company's use all sorts of sleazy tactics to get more money from you, this game comes out of no where with a reasonable price tag, no preorder crap for an advantage, no pay to upgrade for nexgen, you pay your 50 quid and you get a quality AAA games with no strings attached BS that works flawlessly regardless of platform.

My First Ever Review

It's Absolutely Beautiful, Finally! a AAA game that works and runs sooo well! The movement and detail of the bosses are unbelievable! It is a learning curve game you will die a lot but that's okay because finally beating that Boss feels amazing and rewarding!
For first-time Souls Gamer, this is the perfect one to start with, the menu, weapons, magic, and builds is set out very well to really understand it without needing videos or guides, with an open world map to explore and find a lot of secrets, lore, dungeons and even little side stories with funny characters what make you chuckle, to bosses what really get the gamer thumbs going.

this is definitely game of the year and no game is even close to compete. First off I paid with crypto currency, got 15% discount and the key instantly. At first I was hesitating to buy this game, thinking it is to expensive and that it might not be worth it, but it was definitely worth it. Dark Souls Got Even Better!

Not really worth the money
The combat system is awfully slow.
Bosses overall are larger than you and you never have time to react.
Mechanical, you hit once or twice then try to avoid their large AOE or wide attacks then try to attack once more

currently at 130hours and I could easily play 200 more. Beautiful open world with a non linear story allowing total freedom and full customisation with tons of quests that can easily be missed if you are in a rush to finish the story but exploring and taking your time is totally rewarding.

Just try it, and trust me you will like it. The whole game is amazing from the storyline and the different endings you can follow (Do several runs or NG+). The graphics are beautiful and you have to appreciate them more which you realize closer you get to the capital and end game.

Personally, this game isn't really for me. I got suggested it by multiple friends and I brought it thinking it'd be super enjoyable however it is more frustrating then anything. Yes I know it is meant to be a Dark Souls genre game however even after watching multiple videos and guides and spending countless hours on simple tasks, I still sit at the same point in the game. Overall if you like Dark Souls it seems to be a perfect fit however the PC Performance is really bad, the in-game settings make near to no difference in FPS, it's capped at 60FPS and the game is using a 5-6yr old engine. It's a personal choice whether you want the game, for me I'd probably enjoy it if I wasn't getting so angry at the game and played a bit more and made some progression but right now It's a no go for me, I can easily see it being fun for others though so If you like the look of it then give it a shot.

A Great Game
This is my first Souls like game and going into it i was abit worried about how i would get on with it. after the tutoral i was set off into the open world to explore how i see fit and the game did a great job at challenging me and subtly letting me know when i was outside of my power area.

All in all this game it very visualy pleasing and once you have the hang of the combat system is very rewarding.

Honestly top 3 games of all time, i have a very large diversity of games i like to play from COD to fifa and gta, obviously they are very popular games and most people have tried them but i do enjoy all types of games. Basically saying that a top 3 spot is very difficult to get into.

This game is obviously GOTY no question but i think it could be game of the decade and its only early 2022, i honestly cannot imagine a better game being released ever. The only reason it does not have top spot is because of nostalgia. Maybe in a few years it will weave its way in.

Being someone who hasn’t partially been HUGE on the soul’s games I’ve really loved this. Not very often you get games where it’s challenging and generally rewards discovering new locations /areas without having map/marker and quest logs galore being swamped on you you’re forced to think and plan and figure out what to do next it’s a great exspirence with a lot of intense challenges I’m not done yet but honestly I’m having a absolute blast and from software nailed there craft.

Possible GOTY
If you would play this thinking its another Skyrim or ESO then you are mistaken. A small sheep, pig can kill you even the horse if you make a wrong step.

Its an open world sanbox where no guide will ahow you what to do and every nook and cranny of the map qould suprise you sometimes there is treasure ans sometimes a boss or sometimes nothing. Still exploring the map and have not killed a single story boss.

DARK SOULS GOT BETTER
if you like the dark souls games this is a must buy its everything you could want and more :-) the open world environment is a great addition to the game the horse is actually useful not just for show yes it drives you crazy and some bosses seem impossible i play on my own and invite random players to help when needed works great i must say tho the PS5 version is less buggy ive had this crash twice now on PC from silly things like rolling through crates and simply jumping all in all a great game :-)

Amazing
I've played most of the Souls games and give them up after a few hours as they are punishing but this is a masterpiece with its open world formula you are free to explore and simply skip past the majority of the powerful enemies to come back at your own leasure to attempt to defeat them. It's a long time since I was drawn into a game and the 45 hours I have put into it this last week speaks volumes for how addictive it is.

Best Game I've ever played
The open world is full of stuff to do, the bosses are challenging OST is amazing, haven't run into any glitches and am just blown away by the quality of the game.

Game of the Year (must play)
Never been a souls player or fan of the series due to the difficulty/grind and lack of an "easy mode". This game address QoL changes, beautiful gameplay and challenging combat. It has become my favourite game ever in no time, and the scale is immense - you are in for a treat if you enjoy RPGs and exploration, with a difficult side to it.

- Nothing. Maybe the framerate issues but it's fixable and beautiful and enjoyable still.

Great game, but some short falls

You'll die a lot. That's the point! Nostalgia 10/10
This game brings you right back to the driving seat of Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Fantastic open world exploration and breath-taking scenery everywhere you go! Yes, it is a difficult game, these have always been difficult games and the whole purpose is for the player to learn each creature's unique mechanics and to triumph when defeating a boss. The only reason I have rated 75/100 is due to the fact that you begin in a very high level area; sure you can run away but this isn't made clear to the player from the start and due to the randomness that comes with exploration you can find yourself in a world of trouble, very, very quickly!

Would be a hundred if it was down to gameplay only
The game is amazing the graphics are beautiful and the combat system is everything i would want it to be its a shame such an amazing game is being ruined by such a poor PC port im running the game on a rtx 3090 strix with a i5 12500k and the game is stuttering sometimes even on the lowest settings once they fix the pc port this game will write history no doubt

was sceptical of the site but after purchasing i also got a 15% discount from using crypto and only had to pay £30 for elden ring pretty much on launch. havent had any stuttering either and ive played for over 10 hours now.

Common frame drops/stutters and in some areas screen-tearing is visible. On recommended graphics you CANT see any enemies & your horse + it's horribly optimised for pc anyways and there wont be any unofficial patches either due to the anti-cheat. However, for a souls-like the game play is good but its hindered by optimisation issues & bugs.

I played this game; it's just excellent took the creators a long time to make a masterpiece so don't be put off by small bugs and glitches; these are being fixed with a day one patch.

Ignore the other review. This game definitely is for pc. While key board and mouse works, controller is highly suggested.
If they played any souls games before they'd realize it's meant to be how it is.

Now this game is great. Exploration isn't empty. New mechanics and features are great and blend well with the game. More surprises to be found in this new title.

A Masterpiece about to be released
I cannot wait... but I know I'll get downvotes as it's not out yet.

Consider all things: The IGN review is out today (23 Feb 2022) and no surprise that it has been given a 10/10 "Masterpiece" award. This is probably one game that you can make a sure bet on. It's from FromSoftware for one whom have a good track record, secondly the open demo went down well and as mentioned it's already scooped a 10/10 "Masterpiece" award which is as rare as hens teeth from IGN.

Derivative Copy&Paste Job
People complai about Ubisoft and other big companies for releasing the same game over and over, yet Fromsoft is allowed to do so, while also joining the open world boredom trend?
The game reuses the same animations that have been around since Demon Souls, but now with a horse and Sekiro stealth.

Boring, derivative, and the game is still just a dodgeroll and R1 spamfest. Gone are the days of bosses with interesting mechanics or bosses that serve as immersive elements, like non-bosses such as the maiden, her bodyguard, the tower knight, and the dragon god in Demon Souls. Now it is just dodging through attacks and walking through empty fields...and probably poison swamps, for the 7th time. Now with shiny Ps3 graphics.

Stop with the double morale / double standards.
